Signing children out

Following on from direction from the school as well as the Department of Health and the Department of Education, the separation that required 2 different rolls tables is no longer in place.

The rolls table has been moved inside the doors of the gym, next to the basketball court.

This means that families are permitted to come onto the school grounds to sign their child/ren out and wait outside whilst children collect their bags. Families must not enter the inside spaces of the service.

Aranda Afters is committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for our community. We acknowledge the risks still posed in the community, and endeavor to provide transparent information to families. 

Additional cleaning processes

At regular intervals through the afternoon, educators will be cleaning surfaces and resources, to reduce the risk of transmission. Hand sanitiser will also be located in different areas throughout the service, and children will be encouraged to regularly apply hand sanitiser to promote hygiene practices for children and educators alike. 

Vaccination requirements

As outlined by the ACT government, educators are required to be vaccinated, to ensure the safety of children and staff. These mandates are as follows:

1. A minimum first dose of a registered COVID-19 vaccine by no later than 1 November 2021; and

2. A minimum second dose of a registered COVID-19 vaccine by no later than 29 November 2021 

Exemptions must be provided in writing from the Chief Health Officer (or delegate).
