Our team of educators are here to support all children and develop them into becoming confident and active people.

Aranda Afters – Building Confident People
October COVID-19 Information
We are all extremely excited to have increased numbers of children returning to the service and have created an exciting program for the rest of term 4.
Signing children out
Following on from direction from the school, the Department of Health and the Department of Education, the rolls table has been moved back outside, at the end of the year 1 landing next to the basketball court. This means that families are permitted to come onto the school grounds to sign their child/ren out and wait outside while children collect their bags.
Families must not enter the inside spaces of the service. Following COVID-19 restrictions, families must continue to wear masks, sign in through the ‘Check in CBR’ app and social distance when at the service.
Safety procedures at the service
Aranda Afters is committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for our community. For the rest of term 4, staff will take extra steps to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, in response to ACT’s restrictions and requirements.
Social distancing, checking in & masks
Educators attending the service will ensure they remain socially distanced from families and other educators, as to promote safety within the community. Staff will also be wearing masks and signing in via the ‘Check in CBR’ app when at the service, as required by ACT Health.
Additional cleaning processes
At regular intervals through the afternoon, educators will be cleaning surfaces and resources, to reduce the risk of transmission. Hand sanitiser will also be located in different areas throughout the service, and children will be encouraged to regularly apply hand sanitiser to promote hygiene practices for children and educators alike.
As outlined by the ACT government, educators are required to be vaccinated, to ensure the safety of children and staff. These mandates are as follows:
- A minimum first dose of a registered COVID-19 vaccine by no later than 1 November 2021; and
- A minimum second dose of a registered COVID-19 vaccine by no later than 29 November 2021
Exemptions must be provided in writing from the Chief Health Officer (or delegate).
Aranda Afters is currently in the process of obtaining vaccination records as to ensure we meet the mandates put in place by the ACT government.
